Unite Accommodation is renowned in the UK as being the best for students, and this particular building is no exception. New Medlock House is situation on Chester Street just off Oxford Road, a 5 minute walk from both Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University main campuses, both of their Student Unions and Oxford Road train station.
The building itself had a court yard which is very social, 24 hour security and an on site laundry service.
This particular flat is 4 sharing, and I am advertising my room as I have unfortunately had to leave university. There are 3 girls living here, all very friendly, we share a kitchen and lounge with large TV and freeview. Kitchen has lots of storage and you never have to worry about food being stolen!
The bedroom has its own En Suite and you have your own key so that only you can access it. The En Suite is the best I've seen, very roomy, containing toilet, sink, shower and a mirror. The bedroom itself has a full length mirror and a single bed. Lots of storage again, a huge desk at the window end of the bedroom and shelves on the wall, along with under bed storage and a bedside table. There is a heater on the wall adjacent to the bed, but I've yet to use it as the whole building is always lovely and warm. The wardrobe is built into the wall and has two large shelves above the rail, a very good size.
There is a pin board on the wall next to your desk too, perfect for any memos or photos from home.
The bedroom is quite large but is a single room, to give an idea of size, width ways you could fit 3 single beds, and the room is very long to accommodate the desk, wardrobe and bathroom.
Under the desk you can fit a fridge like I did, which if you are interested in you can have mine with the room for £100, I bought it for £220, just looking for a quick sale, barely used, can email you pictures of it if you like! It’s a fridge intended for kitchens so very large, not one of those you can only fit a few cans in, suitable for food as well as cooling your drinks.
