I am subletting my bright room in a Victorian House in New Cross Gate. It is available from the 15. Dec 08 – 12. Jan 09 but the dates are negotiable. The price is 95 £ per week including all bills and Internet. But this price is negotiable! The room is of decent size (14 square meter), facing south and has a double bed. My three flatmates and me are looking for a friendly, responsible and clean person for a short term rent over Christmas and new year.
The room:
The flat is on the ground floor of a Victorian House on New Cross Road. The room itself is facing the garden to the south, so it is really sunny and quite. The walls and ceiling are in typical Victorian style and there is wooden flooring in the room. It will be rented furnished including a double bed, a small desk, a chest of drawers, a built in shelf, some chairs and a wardrobe which is outside the room in the hall.
The flat:
You will be sharing it with three relaxed and hard working flatmates in their mid twenties and older. The flat is actually quite big, it has a living room with sofas, tv and dining table, a huge hall and a kitchen equipped with everything you need (washing machine, microwave, tumble dryer…). Its not the latest design and the fanciest stuff as everything has been decorated by the landlord but is decent enough! There is also a wifi network and the costs are included in the rent. The flat has access to a private garden, which we are sharing with the others in this block, but during winter hardly anybody uses it.
The area:
The flat is situated in the Fairlawn Mansions, New Cross Road which is less then 5 min away from New Cross Station. From there you can get to London Bridge in 7 min by train. There are about 10 buses directly in front of the door which directly drive to all main parts of the city (Oxford Circus, Bank, Victoria, Old Street, Trafalgar Square, Aldwych…) but also to the South-East of London.
I would prefer to rent the room for the whole four weeks, but if nobody is interested in renting for a month, I might consider subletting it for a shorter period of time – although we then have to discuss the price again. As mentioned, the dates are negotiable, if you need it earlier or want to stay a bit longer we can arrange that. But please don’t contact me if you are only interested in a few days, as we are not a hostel.
