I was born and brought up in Central London - Bethnal Green as a matter of fact – a genuine east-ender! Although you may hear that in London places like Islington, Hackney, Hoxton, Whitechapel, BrickLane & Bethnal Green are pretty trendy and cool these days - the sub urbs like Hainault & Chigwell is still tops for tranquility, safety - and above all, value for money. Why pay well over £120.00 a week for a grotty room in an ex-Council estate? My apartment in a private development in Hainault, for example, you can get to the West End in 25 mins. The Central Line has a fantastic service and the Oyster card is excellent value for Zones 1 to 5.
For true expert advice from someone who has actually lived and worked in London and indeed the sub urbs all his life - please feel free to call me. Naturally, I would thoroughly recommend my own immaculate one bedroom ground floor flat located in a prime leafy location in a private development just a short (1 minute walk from Hainault station (Zone 5 Central Line with excellent links to the City, Docklands and West End – 25 mins). This property would make an ideal home for a professional / single female. The rent is only £95.00 a week for the furnished double bedroom. All bills (Council Tax, Electricity, internet Broadband, landline telephone calls in UK, Water etc.) included. Prospective tenant will share the kitchen and bathroom. The owner/landlord is my good self and I am of the male species! – and I am a professional independent social worker & I occupy the main lounge as my studio/office. Lest this fact should sound undesirable and perhaps even off-putting: this East-end landlord is a totally chilled out and easy to live with feller (or so I have been sometimes told!).
